Today we celebrate World Environment Day.
This year, the theme for World Environment Day 2023 is #BeatPlasticPollution. It aims to highlight the urgent need to tackle plastic pollution and find sustainable solutions in reducing plastic waste and promoting a circular economy.
Plastic pollution is a global problem. The world produces about 400 million tons of plastic waste a year. Many of the materials used to replace plastics actually have a much higher carbon footprint than plastics themselves. With the largest share of carbon footprint coming from the primary material, the use of naturally occurring and low carbon footprint materials such as upcycled wood could be a game-changer in the alternatives to plastics markets.
At Innomost we believe in circular economy and offer a sustainable alternative to plastics.
