We had the pleasure of attending Tech Tour Bio-Based Industries 2025 in Wuppertal, Germany. The event co-organized by  The Bio-based Industries Consortium (BIC) and hosted by Circular Valley aims to connect Europe’s most promising bio-based startups and SMEs with active investors for financial and strategic partnerships. The Europe’s premier investment event for the bioeconomy spotlighted 40 cutting-edge companies selected by a panel of 42 active investors.

The Bio-based Industries Consortium (BIC) is a non-profit organization established in 2013 in Brussels, representing the private sector in a public-private partnership with the European Commission. Its primary goal is to strengthen the bio-based industries sector in Europe, encompassing a wide range of sectors from the primary industry to market actors.

Our CEO, Tiina Bensky, presented Innomost’s mission to transform the chemical industry through biobased, high-performing ingredients developed from upcycled birch bark. She introduced our flagship innovations, Betuinno™ Betulin and Suberinno™ Suberin, designed for applications in cosmetics, coatings, packaging, and other demanding sectors.

For us at Innomost, the discussions at the event were especially promising. The clear interest in biobased alternatives, circular business models, and advanced materials showed that sustainability and innovation are now central priorities for both investors and industry leaders.

The key takeaways from the event:

  1. Collaboration is essential: The challenges of building a biobased circular economy are complex, and real progress depends on working together.
  2. Innovation requires courage: Pushing new solutions forward means taking bold steps and staying committed.

Our sincere thanks for an inspiring event, and to everyone who met with us in Wuppertal.
